The pump runs fine while the sun is up

The pump runs fine while the sun is up. It runs for the evening once it is dark. Then it turns itself off. In the morning it does not re-start automatically. You must go to the stone and turn it back on again. This is terribly inconvenient, especially since I have placed the stone up high where there will be no shade. Have go get up on a step ladder to turn it back on.

Update:

It will eventually start up again. but apparently not until the sun has charged the battery.
